Crystal and I unknowingly donned our most look-a-like outfits and headed down to Portland's waterfront to go on a guided kayaking tour around Ross Island. They provided us with general instructions, Crystal and I saddled up in our double kayak, and took to the water quite dashingly.
Throughout our tour we lost three of our companeros to the river. This was exceptionally entertaining as it was the three men who looked like they would least enjoy capsizing in front of a large group. As the laughter bubbled up in us, we began to ponder karma. Will we flip for wanting to laugh? Will we be struck by lightning? Upon further reflection, when our guide 'Tex' paddled next to us and asked us "So, what's up with the matching outfits?", did we realize that perhaps karma hit us before hitting the water; when we showed up in matching outfits.
Much to our chagrin none of this journey (including the matching turquoise tops, beige hiking shorts and khaki hats) was photographed.
